…surely not in Australia

The shameful truth is that these new abortion law changes that have been happening around Australia for over a decade now, actually to not protect nor show any compassion for an aborted baby who is born alive.

The ABC finally managed to make the truth public in Queensland in 2016 when figures of babies surviving late term abortions from 2005 – 2015 was released by the current Health Minister, Cameron Dick.

‘Queensland Health confirmed that in such cases, life-saving care is not rendered to the baby after a decision to terminate is made and it is left to perish in the clinic’
Sadly 27 babies met their fate alone and uncared for that year.

Victorian figures (2016) also reveal that 33 babies were born alive that year after abortion procedures and left to die.[Perinatal Mortality Rates (PMR) in Victoria 2016, Perinatal deaths as a result of termination in pregnancy, Table 6.19, pg 48]

Proposals by politicians to have amendments made to these abortion laws requiring life-saving medical care to be given should a late term abortion result in a live birth, have failed to pass in nearly every state of Australia.

This law has been slipped past nearly all Australians who would never agree to such heartless cruelty and lack of compassion or rights for defenceless little human beings.

Late last year (2019), after an immense battle, NSW managed to succeed in achieving this basic humanitarian amendment.

Hopefully this is sign of the tide turning.

Let’s support that move.
